Since replacing the floors, I’ve relocated our shoe cubbies to the laundry room–the only room with sand-friendly tile. Which works fine except that it’s a more closed off space. And to my wonder and amazement, the shoes are starting to smell. This is all logical, since our kids are older now and they keep their shoes for longer, wear them more often, and do more strenuous activities in them. But really–when did my kids get old enough to have shoes that smell?
